PREPARATION FOR MASTERING JOB
FORMATS WE ACCEPT: .wav / .aif / ZIP, RAR
YOU CAN ALSO SEND YOUR SONGS TO US ON CD-R in AUDIO OR DATA CD
- You should give us a mix that is close to -3 db to -6db (below digital "0"), this will give me enough room to work without clipping.
- Please send your song(s) in Wav\. or AIFF format, preferably 24 bit.
- Your CD should be under 74 minutes to adhere to the "Redbook" standard.
- Do not try to make your songs louder by Normalizing, adding Compression or by using a Limiter. I have the correct equipment and knowledge to do this for you, that is why you are hiring me.
- Do not use any Mastering software then send it to me to master, I can of course make it sound better but it will not be as good as it could be if you sent it to me unmastered completely.
- You do not need to fade out your songs. I will fade out using a standard 20 second fade, or we will let the song end naturally and just clean the end.
- Make sure you fill out the form completely. I can not start work without all your information. If you do not want to fill out the form please be sure to email me with any info. that you think fits the project.
If you already have fadeouts or is an old demo that you tried to master, give me all the info. you can in the form so I know what I am dealing with.
If your song has fade outs already it may be complicated to master since compression will try to bring up the volume on the fade, I still will do my best if that is all you have.
IF ALL THIS IS WAY OVER YOUR HEAD I WILL DO THE BEST I CAN WITH WHAT YOU HAVE, JUST KNOW IF YOU WENT BY THESE DIRECTIONS YOUR MASTER WOULD BE AT LEAST 100 TIMES BETTER.
REMEMBER - IF YOU MIX SUCKS MOST LIKELY YOU WILL -NOT- GET A KILLER MASTER, DON'T EXPECT GREATNESS.
IF YOU HAVE A GREAT MIX YOU WILL GET A GREAT MASTER!
-THE MASTERING PROCEDURE-
1. You submit your tracks (either via mail or my trusty upload gadget or FTP),
2. Payment for mastering, (I ACCEPT PAYPAL AND CC NOW CREDIT PAYEMNTS, Also M.O. or cash. SORRY NO PERSONAL CHECKS.
(Payments must be made in full before I start any work)
3. Below is the info. I will need, you can fill out the form below by clicking on FORM.
Artist name
Release title
Track order
Information on any fades, with specific times if possible
CD-Text information, ISRC codes, and UPC codes (optional)4.When I receive the songs and info I review the materials. If the mixes aren't proper and would be best if you did a bit of a remix I may ask you to render the files again.
5. I master the tracks and post the files online.
6. You download the mastered tracks and audition them on several different radios, stereos, computers. Try to compare them to major label releases in the genre, rather than your unmastered versions.
7. Any adjustments you request are made if you request.
8. I post new versions for your review and approval. If necessary, I'll make further adjustments.
9. Once you approve the mastering, I create a master CD-R., and get together any information needed and send it off to you and the job is done.
If for any reason you need me to make changes to the final master -AFTER- it has been created and sent you will be billed a flat rate of $100 to cover the cost of preparing and mailing new masters.
